Trekinetic is pleased to announce the launch of the GTE Mk3, which features significant enhancements, including a new lithium-ion battery with a range of up to 30km. The latest updates to our flagship GTE powerchair make it even simpler to use and more capable than ever, whether it’s being used around town or on the beach.
After feedback from our customers and dealers, we have developed what we hope will be a raft of positive changes to our unique all-terrain wheelchairs.
Key Features of the GTE Mk3
The newly introduced GTE Mk3 comes with an array of impressive features designed to enhance user experience and functionality:
- Lithium-Ion Battery: At the heart of the GTE Mk3’s upgrades is its new lithium-ion battery, which provides an impressive range of up to 30 kilometers. Using an updated battery box design, the Li-ion battery can easily be charged in the chair or removed and charged externally. At 295Wh the battery is safe for air travel when removed and carried as hand luggage, and has an 8 year lifespan.
- Locking Camber System: Trekinetic’s patented variable camber system now includes a locking mechanism as standard, making it easier to use and requiring less ongoing maintenance. The locking system is also key to our crash testing, so you only now need to add the tie down points and lap belt for it to be safe to sit in, in a vehicle.
- Magnetic Footplate: The GTE Mk3 now includes a magnetic locking and retracting footplate as standard making it even simpler to transfer in and out of the seat. No more elastic to hold the footplate up!
- Puncture Resistant Tyres: All Trekinetic wheelchairs now include Tannus tyre armour in the front wheels and heavy-duty tyre sealant in the rear wheel as standard, dramatically reducing the chance of a puncture whilst out and about.
- Improved Connectors – The connectors used to attach/detach the wheels for transport are now easier to use, more durable and located at the back of the chair.
- More Compact Design: Ease of travel has always been a key with the GTE. Now, the GTE MK3 folds down even smaller than before, making it even easier to transport by car.
- New Umbrella System: Whether you’re getting out of the rain or seeking protection from the sun, the GTE Mk3 now has a mounting point on the seat for a full sized Blunt Exec umbrella and has an updated footplate design to stow the umbrella when not in use.
- Remote Tilt Mechanism: Trekinetic’s patented tilt-in-space mechanism can now be activated by gently lifting the armrest. Available as an option for those that need it.
- Rubber Grips: Handlebar grips have been updated to a hard wearing rubber compound to provide maximum control and durability when pushing from behind.
Availability & Price
The Trekinetic GTE Mk3 will start from £12,450 and enter production in May 2024. It is currently available for pre-order via our dealer network and will be available to test soon! The GTE Mk2 will still be available to order for a limited time only as Trekinetic transition over to the Mk3.
Updates to the Trekinetic K2
In addition to launching the GTE Mk3, Trekinetic has also announced updates to its manual K2 wheelchair. The K2 will now include puncture-resistant tyres, our locking camber system and a magnetic footplate. We have also updated our XL handlebar extensions which can be configured with attendant brakes or to mount an attendant joystick on the GTE.
