This section of the event offers a chance for visitors—whether members of the Chilterns Neuro Centre or the wider public—to get involved and experience the thrill of participating. It’s also where attendees will be able to try out Trekinetic’s wheelchairs in a practical, welcoming setting.
All proceeds from the event are being donated by Runaway Racing to the Chilterns Neuro Centre, highlighting a shared commitment to improving lives through community, activity, and access.
A Perfect Setting for Innovation
Wendover Woods provides the kind of terrain that Trekinetic wheelchairs are built to handle. From uneven surfaces to forest trails, this environment allows users to push their wheelchairs beyond the usual settings. The event’s accessible loop will offer a chance to experience this in action, without needing to venture into the tougher main trail route, which isn’t practical for wheelchair testing.
Trekinetic will be showcasing both their manual and powered models throughout the evening. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet the team, see the design and engineering of the K2 and GTE first-hand, and explore how the right wheelchair can open up new activities and outdoor spaces.

Race the Light is more than just a trail race. Showcasing the K2 and GTE Wheelchairs
Both the Trekinetic K2 and GTE will be available to explore during the event. The K2 is a lightweight manual chair, designed to take on challenging outdoor environments with ease. Its key benefits include superior handling on rough terrain, along with full crash testing to ISO 7176-19 standards.
The GTE, Trekinetic’s powered model, is classed as ultra-lightweight at just 34kg—an exceptional contrast to standard powered wheelchairs, which often exceed 140kg. Despite its low weight, the GTE delivers strong performance and off-road capability. Both models can be fitted with crash-tested restraint systems, making them suitable for use as a passenger seat in a wheelchair-accessible vehicle if required.
As needs evolve, both models can be adapted. Seat adjustments and footplate changes allow for growth from childhood to adulthood, helping extend the lifespan of the wheelchair and avoiding the need for replacement.
